How does the Program operate?
The Program is jointly run by the World Bank and IAWD. The Program team based in the Vienna World Bank office consists of representatives of both institutions and manages the activities supported by the Program on a day-to-day basis, in close coordination with World Bank staff and IAWD partners in the region.
The Program operates under the oversight of a Steering Committee comprised of senior representatives from the donors and agencies involved, and benefits from the guidance of an advisory committee with participation of delegates from key water sector stakeholders in the region. Whenever possible, regional experiences and expertise are used, but the Program also seeks to develop exposure to internationally relevant best practices.
English is the Program’s language of choice for regional activities, but activities at sub-regional, national and local levels can also be conducted in other languages.
